We've extended our Outreach work to ensure

as many people as possible are able to access our events.

At The Party Somewhere Else HQ, we’re always scratching our heads to think about how we can ensure that the incredible artists who bring their work to us can connect with audiences who are newer to theatre.

One third of tickets for our 2018 festival were sold to people who had never attended Nottingham Playhouse before, and we’ve resolved to do even more as part of 2019’s festival to reach out to audience members who would like to engage with work made by women and non binary artists, but may not have always felt that attending the theatre is for them.

We are proud to be partnering with Nottingham Women’s Centre who are supporting our thinking about this.

We are really delighted to be working with Pamoja Women Together, a group of incredible women who meet weekly at Nottingham and Nottinghamshire Refugee Forum.  Thanks to a small grant from Nottingham Women’s Centre and Nottingham City Council, on March 1st we spent a fantastic morning at Nottingham Playhouse with the women, including a backstage tour, which marked the beginning of our partnership with Pamoja group members for 2019’s festival and beyond.

Supported by funds from Arts Council England, we’ll be meeting with the group throughout May, sharing creative ideas and forming a focus group to keep thinking and growing around how to create the warmest welcome to the party that we can. Pamoja group members and their young children will have a bespoke performance of the beautiful Sing Me A Story by Mama Sings on Friday 17th May as part of The Party Somewhere Else festival.
